Suggesting a ban on fireworks - what are opinions?

I'm curious about how people would react, or what your opinions are, if we banned sale of fireworks in Malmö, Skåne or entire Sweden.

I live in Malmö, and we have fireworks going off every day of the year, at any hour. I also live in an area where lots of people hold dogs, and those dogs get scared and run away from their owners or shake from fear and look miserable.

Keep in mind, that people fire off fireworks at random hours, it could be 3am, 2pm, 5pm... So the dog owners don't have any specific hours, where they can avoid fireworks when they walk their dogs.

Also it feels unsafe, and very annoying. I'm scared of leaving kitchen windows open in the apartment at night, just in case a firework flies in while I'm asleep. Bedroom windows open and I wake up due to firework noise. It has been like this for the last 4 years and I'm really sick and tired of it.

When so many people have a stash of fireworks that last a whole year, perhaps issuing a ban is more practical, rather than forbidding people to use it outside of New Years Eve. Clearly whatever the police is doing to stop the issue, is not working, and it has a disrupting effect on society.

I normally don't advertise for a ban on stuff, but this is really getting to me. Another sleepless night, I've heard fireworks go off minimum 3 times today. Am I wrong? AITA? Got a better solution?
