Is this normal on a new Aeron Onyx, or am I being too picky?
I recently got a Herman Miller Aeron in Onyx and noticed something a bit odd with the mesh.
The backrest has a few areas where the mesh looks like a slightly different shade depending on the angle/light, almost like uneven panels. The seat also has some faint lines running across it. It’s hard to describe, but hopefully the photos show what I mean.
I asked Herman Miller support and they said it’s just a characteristic of the material, and that it should blend in a bit more with use.
Does that sound right to people who own an Aeron, especially the Onyx version? I’m not sure whether this is totally normal for the mesh or whether I should be pushing for a replacement while it’s still new.
The chair feels fine otherwise - it’s just the visual inconsistency that’s bothering me a bit.
