Keeping butterflies.

Hello! I had this as a dream but now I’m curious, could I make a large enclosure for butterflies? I know some companies sell caterpillars that turn into butterflies. Not wondering how I could make it, I’m wondering if it would even be possible and ethical. Thanks!
