Small collection update since my last post.
Made a few changes to the wall and added some cards I’ve been chasing. Mostly focusing on Gold Stars, vintage, and Japanese promos.
Also figured I’d show the full setup this time since the collection is part of the bar area.
Still have a few cards I’m chasing and I’m torn on what makes more sense from an investment standpoint. A couple bigger $20k+ grails or several cards in the ~$5k range. What would ya’ll do?

What do you think about these cards long term? The pop art is definitely iconic, do you think they have seen the lows in price?

Also there's a few others obviously, the Gengar, Lucario etc I know there is also cards from Evolutions that have the same type of art..do you know of any others?

Hey all. So a long time ago, my parents got me 2 of the Mario and 2 of the Luigi ones all the way back in Gen 6. I held onto them and kept two sealed, since I was disappointed they didn’t have packs. They’re both sealed and in really good condition, minus a small notch or two on the plastic wrapping. Apparently, these are now pushing around $25K-30K combined going by price charting. Due to a malfunction, I’m currently out of a car and I need to figure out how to fund my masters degree, so I’m finally ready to part with these. Problem is, I have no idea how to actually move something this valuable.

My current option is to list them on eBay to see if they get purchased, but all of the listings are absurdly priced compared to last sales, and I’m not even sure if they’ll move to begin with due to absurd price. I’ve got some other decently valued sealed stuff from a few years back as well, but these two are the main ticket items.

Any advice on how I can get these off my hands with anything close to market price?

Hot take; the rare cosmos variant of this card might be the best Gyarados art in the hobby, and I think its significantly undervalued by the market.

Anybody agree? Is this a card worth me bidding on at auction this week? 10's seem non-existent.

With the summer slump I am sure we have all seen the market take a dip over the last month or so. I have been watching month over month returns by set and you can see how sharp the turn was in July

From January through June basically nothing in the era had a down month. February, March, April and May were clean sweeps, all 16 sets green, median set doing +8 to +13% a month. June softened a little, three sets went red.

Then July. All 16 down, median -3.9%. 151 was -11.2%, Obsidian Flames -10.5%.

Worth saying this is raw prices. PSA 10s for the same sets held up much better in July, only 9 of 16 down and the median basically flat. Though slab prices move slower in general so I'm not sure yet if that's graded holding up or just graded catching up late.

August so far, is less ugly. Still 12 of 16 red but the median is only -0.6%, so it's slowed a lot rather than continued. What's odd is which ones turned. Obsidian Flames went from -10.5% to +2.8%, 151 from -11.2% to basically flat. The stuff that got hit hardest is steadying while the newest sets, Black Bolt, White Flare, Destined Rivals, and Journey Together, are still sliding.

What I'm watching is whether that keeps splitting. If the older SV sets keep firming while the recent ones bleed and If August closes red across the board again or if we start to see some reversal.

Anyone selling into this or holding for now?

The same question goes for the Enhanced ME01 booster box. I'm hearing conflicting information online.

I been collecting these lv.x slabs for a bit and finally completed it with mostly wanting to stay around nm range. I know different grading company isn’t ideal but would auction them / selling them would be possible and where?

I bought this Neo Destiny blister in late 2020, and have been roughly trying to keep up with the price over the years, but they come up on eBay so infrequently that I have a hard time getting a realistic gauge on the price. A couple of years ago I messaged someone who accepted an offer on theirs and they said they sold it for just shy of $2k.

With how crazy things have been in the space recently I checked some of the other Neo sets for similar dual blisters and the prices have gone way up. Mine isn’t in perfect condition admittedly. In the past Neo Destiny was the most expensive of the Neo line and it seems that is still the case, so I was wondering if anyone has a realistic price range for this?

Today I drove 4 hours to the nearest Krispy Kreme in order to obtain the Pokémon donut collection! Unfortunately, when I arrived there was no Pikachu or Bulbasaur donuts remaining. No matter how many managers I spoke to it seemed they were unrelenting to give me the products I desired. Their loss of MY money I suppose 😒. Regardless, I was able to obtain 2 jigglypuffs, squirtle, and charmander. Now I am home and just wondering… do I sell them now or will their value increase more if I wait? There’s the obvious concern that since it’s food only true collectors will have any interest in buying them beyond a week of their sell date. And they probably already got the donuts themselves. I attached a photo to also ask what condition I should put them as if I do sell them soon. I lost my self control and did eat the Charmander’s (due to my sexual attraction to the creature). But hopefully the other two still allow me to get a good profit.

Any advice is appreciated!

honestly think its the best out of all the first partners, that latias and latios cameo is really big compared to the pika or red gyarados cameo in gen 1 and 2, what are your thoughts on this cards future?

Is it weird that a Fates Collide booster box is 6k while the chase card is only $200 Near Mint? (The alakazam). Kind of crazy to see such a difference considering these booster boxes are mid era and are low supply (underprinted until XY evolutions). Shaymin EX with mega ray is only $300 while new SIRs from ascended heroes are 1k.

Alakazam, Shaymin and the Yveltal/Xerneas are the coolest arts imo.

Had a fb marketplace deal in motion where my offer of $350 was accepted this past Saturday (I love doing Friday night wheeling and dealing). I still went through with it because I personally thought it was a sick deal, but with monday's "grab bag" PKC drops it made me wonder if AH might get a reprint on the Pokemon Center etbs with the imminent production capacity increase. Or what historical precedent has been established with PKC etbs for special sets i.e. one shot to get or down the line there's another wave?
