I finally got my favorite card from Vending Series 3

I finally got my favorite card from Vending Series 3

I got it for $750, but I paid $200 for taxes 🥲 I still bit the bullet and bought it because I love the flat art so much and his little sketchy smile.

My cat gradually learned how to use his bed 💤

I bought this bed 7 months ago, and I don’t understand why he doesn’t sleep on it. I always take a picture of him sleeping beside it. I thought that was the best thing he could do, gamitin as pillow yung bed.

Today, I caught him sleeping on it for the first time 🥹

Experience with the Copper IUD at Kindred

Background

I was 29 years old and had never had any form of sexual intercourse (aka virgin) before the copper IUD was inserted. Hence, I have never taken any form of BCP. Regardless, my period comes once every 2 months 🙂‍↕️. I believe it is due to the high cortisol life I have been living as a working-law student.

Cost

- ₱570 for OBGYN Consultation

- ₱15k for Copper IUD

Procedure

I had an online consultation with an OBGYN from Kindred Alabang. I could have done it in-person but due to bad weather, I requested for it to be moved online. The consultation was informative especially since I had never had any sexual intercourse before, never taken any form of birth control, and will go straight to the IUD.

After 2 days, I went to the clinic for the transvaginal ultrasound to check whether I can safely have the copper IUD. According to the OBGYN, some women have womb abnormalities or allergic reactions to copper so they can’t have the IUD inserted.

I waited another 2 days for the copper IUD to be inserted because the clinic needed to see the transvaginal ultrasound result first. Fortunately, I was in good condition to get the copper IUD.

While waiting for the procedure, I was given a mefenamic acid, pambawas daw ng pain.

During the insertion, there was only a mild discomfort, not painful, because I can feel that something is moving inside down there like something is brushing against the walls of my uterus 😅. I was on my 4th day of my period so it was also quick.

Post Procedure

The first hour was the worst. I remember eating my breakfast and my face was visibly upset according to my boyfriend. Of course! That was the first time something was inserted in me lol tf. As the day goes on, the discomfort also goes away.

For weeks, I tried to feel the strings before the deed just to make sure it’s still there. I am really scared to get pregnant, I was raised by overachiever parents who made the idea of pregnancy look so bad 😅 I was already hitting millions in income and still scared to get pregnant lmao.

For 4 months, I had random bleeding outside my period. Then it shifted to brown spotting before and after the period. I think the copper IUD is still adjusting to my body. Hence, the random bleeding.

Anniversary

Today, I had the copper IUD for exactly one year and I am super happy with it. I feel like my body became healthier. Before IUD, my period came once every 2 months. Now, it is regular. What I like the most is the peace of mind. I don’t have to be scared of being pregnant since I don’t really like that kind of commitment. Gusto ko lang mag travel and live a stress-free life.

I trust my IUD but I still avoid the deed during my fertile days. Yes! I am that careful.

Business Trip: LF Airbnb/Hotel recos to house 60+ people for a company event

My budget is limited to ₱400k for 60 people. Last year, I spent ₱188k on accommodations for 30+ people through Airbnb. Since the company has expanded again, we now have a larger event with more people to account for.

Could you kindly provide suggestions for 3-4 star hotels that fit within my budget? I want everyone to be at the same location instead of splitting the group to multiple properties for easy pickup/drop-off.

Thank you!

Pros & Cons: My Experience in Buying a Car in Cash

I just want to share my experience here so others who are looking to buy a car and pay it in full can have an idea of how it goes.

Experience with Dealership

Pros

  • VIP Treatment. The unit I want is not available, but they were able to secure one for me even though I don’t have a reservation.
  • Direct access to branch manager. This made everything quick and smooth. There are no uncertainties when it comes to offers and minor details.
  • Short waiting period. I waited for 4 days for the unit to be available. Once it is available, I only waited for 45 minutes in the dealership for it to be released.

Cons

  • Minimal discount. For a ₱2.5M car, the maximum discount I got was ₱10k 🤣. According to the dealership, that is the best they can offer since it is not subsidized.

Experience with the Bank

Pros

  • Secured transfer. I opted for a fund transfer instead of using a manager’s check due to time constraints. The transfer happened real time.

Cons

  • Stupid questions and requirements. Initially, I wanted to use a manager’s check to pay for the car for paper trail but people at the bank asked stupid questions and I got pissed lol.

“Bakit po kayo maglalabas ng ganyang amount?”

“Para saan po?”

Then, they wanted me to show the email from the dealership showing the ₱2.5M that I need to pay. What for???

That’s my money and I want to use it. Tf 🤣

  • Long waiting period. They are asking a lot of requirements, questions, and approvals from different people. It took 3 hours.

Personal Finance

Pros:

  • Debt-free: I avoided the rat race.
  • Peace of mind: I have complete ownership of the car.

Cons:

  • Depreciating asset.
  • Not an investment.

Bought my parents a house and lot

My brother and I initially agreed to go 50/50 on a house and lot for our parents. I paid my share last year. But since his salary as a corporate employee is just enough for him, his share was going to be paid in installments, meaning most of it would just go to interest.

So I decided to step up and pay for the entire house upfront instead, finishing the loan right away. No more interest bleeding. He’ll handle the renovation cost instead.

I even asked my business partner to create a 3D model of the house so my brother can process his renovation loan smoothly.

Small sacrifice, big win for the family 🫱🏻‍🫲🏽
