Anti-Loitering alarm

Anti-Loitering alarm

This has recently been installed on the side of 1152 N Milwaukee. The buzzing is so loud it's coming into my apartment several hundred feet away. Should I contact the building or 311? It's been here about a week now and I finally lost it and walked the whole street to find the source.

What do you all think of this?

Was doing an application and saw this question. I didn’t proceed with my application.

Fencing around trees

Hi all! I moved to the area from a different part of town. I’ve noticed many trees in front of residences on the side walk have fencing around it. I’m a bit confused why, if it’s allowed in Chicago, and who manages/ approves it.

I might get slack for this but in this concrete jungle I’m a bit annoyed my dog can’t sniff some dirt and trees when I walk them around the block.

Should I just leave it alone?

Hi all! I've successfully grown this cuddly cactus for a few years. It's from trader joes. I just moved to a new place and my cactus is LOVING it. It's grown about 6 inches in the span of 2 months. I will add a photo. The pot is pretty small (i've kept it in the original like 3-4 inch plastic pot). My question is, what signs will there be it needs a bigger pot. And what kinds of pots should I get ?

Maintenance main found my dick

I put in a work order for my unit. I came back from walking my dog to find them working on it in my bathroom. My strap-on dick was in the sink. I have nobody to tell. I am mortified.

I love this car

Hi all! This car has shown itself time and time again. I have a Snow White 2023 cx30. I was in a hit and run today. I was turning into a lane and a speeding car went into my lane and side swiped me. I think I saw something flying off his car and was like crap. Pulled over and saw ONLY paint transfer. No body damage. Got it out with a buffer solution and a microfiber.

W2 package

PMHNP here trying to decide between two opportunities and would love some feedback from others in private practice.

Option 1:

  • W2 position
  • $115–125/hour for clinical time
  • $50/hour for admin time
  • No guaranteed hours
  • Only paid for actual hours worked
  • No-show and cancellation pay is unclear
  • Caseload would need to be built over time

Option 2:

  • 1099 position
  • 65% of collections
  • Established therapy practice opening up medication management services
  • Not sure how quickly referrals would come in

My concern with the W2 role is that the hourly rate sounds good on paper, but if there are no guaranteed hours and I'm only paid when working, the actual income could be much lower than expected, especially during slow periods or if there are a lot of cancellations.

My concern with the 65% model is that it could potentially be much more lucrative, but it depends heavily on referral volume and payer mix.

For those who have worked under either model:

  • Which would you choose?
  • What questions would you ask before accepting?
  • What are the red flags?
  • At what reimbursement rates does a 65% split become clearly better than a $115–125/hour model?

Appreciate any thoughts from practice owners or PMHNPs who have been in a similar situation.

Does anyone find collaborating with Therapists helpful?

I work at a private practice with only PMHNP's. So all my clients have external therapists within the community. My patients often tell me their therapist wants to speak with me. These are high functioning patients with the capacity to relay information to their therapist. Sometimes I concede, the call really feels pointless. I don't gain any new information and it feels like the therapist is just seeking supervision and help with the case.

For those that find it helpful, what questions do you ask or what are you looking for in these conversations?

Shipping from Vault

Hello all,

I have a card in the PSA vault. I just moved to a place without a doorman ( I live in Chicago). I just have an intercom to buzz me but I don’t know if fedex drivers actually use it.

Has any of you all got their card shipped from the vault? Was there a way for you to pick it up at a location? Was it stolen? What can I do to prevent this.

Part D IRMAA

Hello all! I just got my monthly premium bill after my initial (3) month installment. That only included part B and part B IRMAA. This month it shows a charge of 150 dollar for part D IRMAA. That is above the max, am I just behind? I'm a bit anxious because I budgeted for a different amount. Any insights would be helpful, I am still new to all of this (dang its so complicated)!

Update: Thanks for everyone who answered!

Any DIY suggestions?

It doesnt seem to be fully ripped through; considering getting leather glue or just leaving it. Some repair man quoted me 300 dollars, I am not willing to pay that for an unseparated rip.

Sorry if the image is blurry. Saw this in west loop driving past the Gardner School. Wanted to hear anyone thoughts, those who have kids in places like this and workers. I always knew the pay was low, but damn they pissed someone off.

Discuss.

My mom got me this coin on her trip to Germany at a LCS. It's very thin. It came in a little envelope. Any ideas how to store to keep it from being bent?
