Traded in a 2019 disastrous Nissan Versa for one of the hatches I’ve wanted since high school… finally got one and the new 2026’s drive like a dream…very clean leather interior too. Mazda focused on the engine n drivetrain I feel way more than the other hatches in its class. Already added the side sills and rear spoiler, going for the front air dam next 🔥Def more balls than the Civics, Corollas, and most other hatches with a 4cyl. Very happy it being my daily driver 👌🏼
Thought I would share what i've owned.
1974 RX4 with a injected 6 port from a s4 rx7.
1977 RX3 with a 13B BP with dual 48 ida Webers.
1980 RX7 with a 13B EP.
2003 MX5, bone stock.
1999 MX5 mild cam, full exhaust, ecu, brakes and suspension upgrade.
I still dream about the RX3, should never have gotten rid of it.
Not pictured, 2022 Mazda3 2.5GT. Nice car, but boring in auto.
Aiming for a FD RX7 one day.
Hey everyone,
A lot of users from my previous CarPlay post requested OBD2 support, so after a lot of work, the feature is finally live in Speedometer: Driving Tracker.
You can now see and analyze real-time OBD2 vehicle data directly from CarPlay, iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch (via live activity).
One thing I personally found really interesting while testing was seeing how different driving styles affect engine behavior throughout an entire trip, not just live gauges while driving.
For example, things like:
• Engine Load
• RPM
• Throttle Position
• Coolant & Oil Temperature
• Fuel Usage
• Mass Air Flow
• Intake/Ambient Air Temperature
• And more
I added a sample trip summary screenshot below showing how the app now visualizes engine performance for a drive.
It even works with automatic trip recording through Shortcuts automations (when OBD2 device is connected), so trips can start recording automatically without manually opening the app.
One important note: every car exposes different OBD2 sensors, so some vehicles may not provide all data points shown in the screenshot.
The goal wasn’t just to make another OBD2 gauge app, but to make driving history and car data feel more visual, insightful, and actually enjoyable to revisit later.
Other existing features in the app:
• CarPlay trip tracking
• 3D route playback
• Speed-colored trip replay
• Video recording with speed + map overlays
• Fuel, maintenance, and expense tracking
• Vehicle-based analytics & comparisons
• iCloud sync across Apple devices
• Privacy-first experience (no ads/tracking/signups)
Now it’s becoming one of the most comprehensive driving tracker apps available on any platform, whether iOS or Android! (iOS version is live, Android version is in progress)
Would genuinely love feedback from fellow car enthusiasts on what data, analytics, or visualizations you’d like to see next.
I just got a brand new CX-30 sport at a great price and I love it. The only negative thing I’ve heard about it (and new Mazdas in general) is that they use up a lot of battery power, and the Mazda batteries aren’t the greatest. I live about 5 miles from where I work (10 ish minute drive), so I make two 5-mile drives every weekday. I still run other errands with it and sometimes drive longer distances on weekends. But will this short commute make me cycle through new batteries every 6 months or something? I can intentionally take a longer way to work each day but that just feels silly.
I kept seeing this Mazda logo popping left and right and thought Id try my hand at it. Pretty happy with the result:)
Pulled up next to a turbo zircon cx30 with terracotta interiors just like mineee.
Hi all,
I am old, yes THAT old. Back in the day if I wanted to flush and fill a diff or a transfer case I would drain the old oil and rinse the unit with seafoam or Mystery Oil or even just straight kerosene. With new cars I am hesitant to put these item in there because the seals might object or maybe a sensor or other component.
Anyone know if it's safe to do this? I have a 2021 CX5 NA.
Edit ok so it's just gonna be a fluid change! I need crush washers!
Black hypergrams? I have a jet black Miata nd1 I can’t decide I’m leaning toward all of them
I was planning on installing a QTP 2.5in electronic exhaust cutout on my 2016 Mazda 6 Touring, but I'm worried about it sounding like a fart can. My car is currently bone stock, I'd add the cutout first and then later I'd fit it to a CS Axleback. Would it just sound shitty?
Deiven 114000 miles, two owners, clean title and no accident. Maintained and no mechanical issues.
How reliable is this particular model, I have heard that the engine js underpowered?
No idea what’s going on here, or even when it happened. I can see some wiring under the burn lines. Some with what looks like thermal shielding. Maybe rear defroster related? No idea. Anybody seen this kinda thing?
I do approx 140 miles each workday so factoring in weekends/days off I expect to hit 400,000 miles in a couple of weeks - 2013 Mazda3 hatch - all DIY maint/repairs - best car EVER
Where would I be able to order new plastic for this? Or if painting is an option, what paint is recommended? It gets a gray marbled look from baking in the sun (photo was after trying to restore it a little with a heat gun). 2015 CX-5
Looking at the GT and debating on weather the turbo is worth it. I love driving, will do mostly city driving on the daily but planning on a lot of road trips and highway driving on the weekend. Love a powerful car, but also is it worth the gas? Heard you have to use premium fuel. Let me know your thoughts
please let me know, the interior is mint and i am in between this and a 2015 accord exl v6, i do commute highway a lot and live in a city ish, thanks!!
