Here is my set of Black Star Promos! Most are lp-nm. I'm going to try to get similar quality replacements for some of my mp-hp copies. I have no idea where I got 41 and 42 from. I assume from trading in 2013-2014.

Hoping to finish the set someday :)

Hey everyone! I’m putting together a Johto display using the first three Neo sets (Genesis, Discovery, and Revelation), and I’d love to get the community’s opinion.
A lot of Pokémon have multiple artworks across those sets, and I’m only using one card per Pokémon.

For example:
Houndour – Discovery or Revelation?
Murkrow – Genesis or Revelation?
Smeargle – Discovery or Revelation?
Unown – Genesis or Discovery?
Which versions would you choose and why? Is there an artwork you think is the definitive version for any of these Pokémon?

I’d love to hear your favorites before I finalize the display!

I found my old collection and have set aside what I believe are the ones in the best condition. I'm wondering what would be the best way to get a more experienced opinion on potentially high grading cards? I have quite a lot and didnt know if Id be able to post that many here. Any advice appreciated.

Okay so I randomly came across this subreddit a few weeks ago and I think it’s the coolest. I collected so many of the black star promos when I was a kid and I recently went on a journey of reading about all of them and remembering how I got them all. I loved the Pokemon League so much, it was such a big part of my childhood.

I started to take photos of my binder because finally I decided I’m going to fill in some of the blank spots (and I didn’t want to forget in the future which ones I already had by the original methods and which ones I had to get decades in the future), and then I thought about posting my collection here. I have duplicates of a lot of these because my brother and I collected together, but then some I just have one of… like he was never going to design a card to get that birthday Pikachu 😂 (Which btw, I did NOT write on that card… I blacked it out because it had my name and birthday on it, but I wrote on a piece of tape, which I then stuck to the penny sleeve on the outside of the card. Even as a kid I was very careful with my collection.)

Some of the ones at the end are just random promos and other stuff (vhs inserts, my player card, my Pokemon Snap cards to print the stickers…) but everything in here is all stuff owned by me originally, nothing bought on the secondary market.

Today I got 6 more of the black star promos (it’s less than it sounds like… 4 of those were the Ho-oh and Rapidash ones so I got both versions) so I’ll be picking them up slowly. Who knows if I’ll ever finish, I see a few will be painful and then of course 2 will be very painful 😂 anyway, I’ve really enjoyed all the posts here and thanks for reading mine if you did!

I got a shadowless Ninetales in my first booster pack. Ninetales quickly became my favorite Pokemon and I was so sad when it was lost or stolen all those years ago.
