I am sworn in, but won't be going to BMQ for a while. I have a few questions.
I'm a reservist, fully sworn in, and have all my gear, and in September, I will be doing Parade Nights.
I'm slowly approaching 30 and have this weird sense. Like, I don't wanna call it impostor syndrome, but those close to me (friends, family, etc) seem super proud of me. I've even had co-workers be super hyped for me, but I haven't even gone to the most basic of training. It feels wrong to really talk about or even claim to be in the army. What is a respectful way to handle these kinds of conversations? I'm proud but still feel like I haven't exactly done anything.
All the BMQ dates are full up, for the summer and my city doesn't have the ability to do part-time BMQ. I'll probably not do BMQ until next summer right? Or so they hold more Sporadic ones through the year?
I passed the fitness test with a pretty good score (silver) and even forgot a water bottle while there. Is this a good indicator of fitness?
I've done BJJ for years and am about to reach purple belt. I can do about 30 push-ups non-stop, did a 5k in about 37 minutes, and can do around 50 sit-ups. Is this a good level of fitness for the Infantry BEFORE BMQ/DP1?
In most reserve units, how does DP1 work? Will I be taking the 2 months off of work to get it done?
Not looking for specific fitness advice, just if I am at a good spot right now and need to maintain it, or if I am a fatass and need to do more. (5 hours a week of fitness right now, and 42-44 hour work weeks)
