Decided to switch out the pen nib for the first time after 12 weeks and…

I had no idea it was THAT worn down, I kept telling myself “oh it’s always been that short” and “oh I’m sure you can wait a little bit longer before needing to replace it”
Now the worst part is that it feels almost too long and easy to write with

Human air is filled with highly reactive oxygen that is constantly killing them and they breathe it and use it for energy production like some forms of early rocket fuel??!?!

Oxygen is eveywhere on earth to the point humans consider reactions involving it to just be how the world works. Their ships are filled with it like massive toxic bombs, all life on their planet was nearly killed by it when life first started producing it and is still being killed by it even now! They just outheal the constant damage it does to them until they can’t keep up and die! And yet they cannot survive without it as it’s a literal electron receptor in their body to produce ATP which wouldn’t you guess it is made by turning a tiny protein turbine! (Even their biology is just ways of making energy by turning something and involves water but in this case as the end product).
Make sure to exercise extreme caution around humans with mobile atmospheres for this exact reason, they act all happy and go lucky and care free and yet they walk around with a oxygen filled air attached to their back!
And yet when I try to explain it to them they look all confused and say stuff like “you make it sound we are breathing explosive natural gas or something” asif oxygen isn’t the reason it’s even explosive for them! I swear these humans are so oblivious to everything, they always act so amazed whenever they find out another species can exist in a vacuum without armour or drink molten rock and yet they can walk around in the most toxic of atmospheres with only eye protection and a gas recycler! And all while being just like a nieve little kid unaware of the sort of things they can do while being over the moons about the most mundane of adaptions in other species! It makes no sense!
