Master Blaster inspired enemy?

Hi all, I have a fun idea for an enemy inspired by Master Blaster from Mad Max Thunderdome. It would basically be a big tanky ogre like enemy, with a small but powerful spellcaster riding on top of him. Anybody know of any official or homebrew creatures fitting this description? I imagine I can't be the first person to ever have this idea but couldn't find anything on my own.

Scobys? developing in bottled kombucha

Hi all, I have a questions about bottling my brews. Multiple times now when I bottle my raw kombucha with a bit of fresh fruit juice to continue fermenting, I end up with small chunks of what seems like a baby scoby or something developing in the brew. If its not a whole chunk of something its just so whispy yeasty/scoby bits. I know this is a living drink and that cant be entirely prevented but does anyone have some tips or practices to get a smoother and cleaner drink?

Brewing F1 in one jar?

Hi all, im new to kombucha so wanted to see what everyones thoughts were on my intended method of brewing. I have a gallon jar with a spigot on the end and was hoping to be able to simple pour some into bottles when it smells/taste to my liking and then brew some fresh tea to top the jug off. Are there any potential problems with this method? I can imagine maybe yeast and sediment buildup on the bottom eventually becoming a problem and it would probably need fully cleaned out every now and then but generally does this seem ok? Thanks!

Forcing players into a devil contract?

I know how this sounds already... yes I am railroading my players hard. We had a lot of first time players in the group so I basically set up the story so they had to earn X points at the local adventuring guild before I really introduced them to the main BBEG and stuff. This worked well enough to show them all the basics of DnD but now we are approaching the point where it is time for them to (unbeknownst to them) travel to the astral plane and be suckered into a contract with a devil that will force them to compete in a blood sports arena until their demise, where their souls will be collected by the devil.

Problem is now, my story REALLY hinges on them taking this contract, and then spending the rest of the campaign trying to find a way to break it (with many other quests and things going on, this is just the kinda main motivation for them to stick together.) Does anyone have any advice for how to handle this? I really don't want my players to feel like they have no choice but to sign this shitty contract, but I also kinda need them to based on how I am setting things up. I am hoping to sell the deal to them as an awesome opportunity for fame and glory and fortune, but if they read the fine print (I am working on typing up the whole contract) they will probably realize its a shitty deal. My main idea is to just have the devil kill them if they don't sign it right there? But this again might make them feel shitty.

Basically I want to put them in a situation where they have no choice but to sign, but without them feeling like they have no choice, or even make them want to sign. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice on how to handle this?

Hi all! I have an encounter I think would be really fun to run but i am having difficulty fleshing out the specifics of it. Basically the idea I have is to have a large arena area with some stone structures for multiple levels and stuff that the party is trapped in. Their goal is to catch a small flying eyeball that is whipping and dodging around the arena. To complicate things, they are being hunted by 2-3 Otyughs at the same time (not fully decided on this monster, just needs to be something dangerous and distracting). I think this will kinda play out like a chase, but all within the same arena.

I am leaning towards using the official rules for a chase where a dash can give you a point of exhaustion since I think this will play out more like combat than an actual chase. I plan to give the eyeball a pretty high speed, maybe like 50 or so feet per turn and a dodge reaction. The rules of the game (the players are forced to compete here) will be that they may not attack the eye or they will be executed and it will be immune to magic effects like hold person or something that will just make it way too easy. I plan to make a really fun environment for this combat, complete with stairs and slides and ziplines to give players ways to zip around the arena quickly of they plan well.

Most of all I want this encounter to be fun so can anyone think of any way this might not turn out well? any ways you can think to break it? does it sound way too easy or way too hard? Any feedback and advice would be appreciated, thank you!
