Did Astro Bot winning Game of the Year start a platformer renaissance?

Dec 2024- Astro Bot wins Game of the Year and completely shocked the gaming world

June 2026- Both Spyro and Rayman have new games announced (with also some theories of a CTR 2 and Crash 5 on the way backed by Spyro 4’s existence)

Maybe Spyro and CTR 2 weren’t influenced by Astro Bot as, if rumors are to be believed, both games were in the concept phase as early as Jan 24 but Rayman getting a whole Sonic Team-esque studio dedicated to JUST Rayman games when Ubisoft didn’t care about Rayman for the longest time and a Crash 5 seemingly starting development in August 25 definitely feel like decisions made based on Astro bot’s success and how platformers are still viable money makers in the modern day
