Explain it to me like im an idiot: full frame vs apsc DOF
I have an R7 with the sigma 18-35 f/1.8, i just did a baby shoot and im disappointed.
On instagram i see lots of pictures in small bedrooms where both the baby’s and moms face is fully sharp but the background is really blurry. But when shooting today with similar compositions/distance from the background i had the feeling i had to choose between having both faces sharp OR have a blurry background.
Since the big differences between me and the professional baby photographers is that they have a full frame camera, i thought i could fix my problem by using full frame. But after researching on reddit, forums and youtube for 2 hours i read the exact opposite, that aps-c sensors should have a bigger depth of field when using the same aperture and framing.
So now just feel stupid and even more confused and wondering if im doing something completely wrong.
(I cant share the pictures because they, understandably, dont want their kids faces online)
