C7 Max: Review from Germany

Choosing a desk chair is never easy, since there are so many options in the market. Even looking at reviews and rankings online is hard, because they might same opposite things about the same products or rate things completely different. On my search, using the reviews from Reddit was what kinda convince me to try out the Flexispot chairs, and that is why I also wanna do my part.

I ordered the C7 Max around the mid of February (at that point for around 330 eur) and received it around the second half of March (that the delivery would take that time was clear from the website). As other reviews have pointed out, the packaging was big and heavy, but it did its job and all pieces arrived in a good state. Every piece comes separately packaged inside a very large box, which adds up to a lot of packaging material.

The building process was relatively easy, though you need to have already a counter top or table cleared so you can install the arms and back rest into the underside of the seat. This can be a bit tricky. The final step of inserting the seat into the foot piece was also a bit tricky to do by yourself, but all in all, it took me about 40 min to do the entire thing, and the chair feels very sturdy.

I am 1.80 m, and for that size I'd say the seat and back rest have a perfect size. I really like the double-axis adjustability of the arm rest. Although the seat does not have an option to extend the arm rests to the sides or back and forth, only up and down, the double axis lets you adjust them to a lot of positions. It would be nice if they could be locked into a position, but they also don't move if you are just resting on them, so they work for me.

The ergonomic back rest feels comfortable. The arch works for me, but I wish it could be adjusted a bit downwards or upwards, for example, for when i am reclining the chair a bit more. The headrest feels ok, but I wish it could also be positioned more flush with the back rest, especially when reclining backwards. As is, I feel it kinda keeps pushing my head forwards too much.

As for materials, the mesh in the back feels comfortable enough, and i appreciate the breathability. I've used the seat with only shorts and it feels good, but I have yet to see how it feels in the summer in my apartment without AC.

All in all, for the price I paid, I think it was a good comfortable chair with enough adjustability options. If you have any questions, let me know.
