Silvia Pro X repair and spare parts questions

Hi everyone! About 3 months ago I took a leap and bought myself a used Silvia Pro X and a Eurika Silenzio. Previous owner was super helpful and answered all my many questions, he said he owned the machine for about 2 years, and I have no reason not to believe him.

The machine worked well for the most part, and I even pulled a few amazing shots and made some nice latte art, but I noticed two problems: wierd whizzing noizes at startup (with full water tank) and watery pucks no matter the grind size or the beans. Other than that no major problems - heats up well, good steam and decent stability, pressure gauge shows around 9,5-10 bars during extraction.

This week I decided to get it checked and sent it to a local repair shop - not authorized by Rancilio, but there are no authorized once where I live. What the repair guy said after a few days of testing surprised me - he said there's a lot of scale buildup inside (I only used reverse osmosis the previous owner claimed to only ever use filtered water) and the 3-way solenoid valve is faulty, it "only opens to a 70% of what it shoud".

What shocked me was the price he asked - about $500 for the spare parts and work, which is: replacing solenoid, "deep clean" (descaling in baths and with ultrasound) and replacing all the fittings and gaskets. The bulk of the price - as he said - is the new solenoid. Said "deep clean" alone can be done for about $120, but in that case there will be no warranty on the repair.

I bought the machine for about $1300, so paying over third the price for repair seems unreasonable - or is he correct and 3-way solenoids are that expensive? Or is the guy trying to scam me out of my money? I'm not in the USA, so for comparison a 250 gram bag of really nice beans is around $15.

I searched on the web but still can't be sure what specific replacement part do I need - I found a few valves for regular Silvia, will those fit?

For now it seems like the best idea is to pay $20 for the diagnostics and take SPX home to try to fix it myself.

I'll be grateful for any feedback.

Sick and tired of bugs this season

I wish I could use more of the clips in one video, cause just today I got three extremely annoying bugs back to back.

First, see the clip, I got nothing out of a “Rift hunt” sprite chest.

Then I got Gem Aura Sprite from a chest near Frosted Flats only for it to disappear into the rock immediately, with no way to get it out.

And third - Shock Rocks straight up didn't work - I had animation of charges rotating around me, but when I tried to double jump the game forgot about it and I lost what should've been an easy endgame, jumping on one spot like an idiot.

As you can see by the level, I played a lot this season, but I'm beyond burnt out this season by the game glitching or bugging on me every other game.

Not sure if I'll be able to finish my sprite collection, I still have 15-20 to find.

Did Epic nerf the ability to extract sprites after Victory Royale, or is it a bug?

Previously I was able to get sprites into inventory and if I was quick enough it allowed me to pull a portable extractor and get it, but no matter what I pressed this time, there was no option to interact with it.

Is that a bug, or is it intended?

Have you heard about the tragedy of Gold Spritus the Unextracted?

Absolutely brutal end to a great match, now the sprite is back to level 1...

Finally dialed-in a perfect shot on a second-hand Silvia Pro X

Bought a used SPX with Mignon Silenzio about three weeks ago, finally started getting some consistent results.

I still struggle with wet pucks and the strange noise at startup, but coffee coming out is great and that’s what matters for now, am I right?

My guess is that Shepherd did so much damage on last attack that it overpowered SC and killed me instantly.

Still a very unfun bug to have and I'm pretty pissed about it.
