As a busy father with skill issue, i'd have NEVER imagined i'd be interested in doing this. After 6 months I'm happy to have completed all available Trails!

Recently I'm really happy with how Veiled Woman no damage run turned out. Of course there are much more skilled people out there doing this in more impressive ways, but i'm still very satisfied. It was a long journey to get there.

My first no hit run was Murong Yuan and it took a MONTH (yes, really) and like hundreds of attempts. I loved the story, the music, the character, so decided to master this fight. It was laughable, i didn't know in Trials it's best to switch weapons rather than try my main ones, didn't know about Divinecraft, nor about Dragon's Breath, did some "alternative" tactics like dodging instead of deflecting to widen attack window etc.

Then on New Year's Eve, i came home drunk at 3am, and beat her on first try then. I sat for like 10 mins looking at the final screen in disbelief. Fortunately my learning was NOT that being drunk is needed for a successful no damage run.

Then i thought i'm done with this. But it turns out Feng Ruzhi is also an interesting character, so there we go again. This time it took much less time. Then maybe could i do Gambit in Kaifeng? And so on.

Got addicted to the thrill and adrenaline rush, and to the feeling of satisfaction. A boss thrashes you initially but then you figure things out and something that initially felt impossible turns to be doable over time. It's amazing how the brain picks up reflexes and patterns after some sleep.

You can also do it! Good practice for persistence and pattern learning. Really helps rewind after a whole day of work where the brain processes completely different stuff.

Thank you for reading if you got this far! Have a good one and good luck on your journey!

Feeding Veiled Woman with Feet and her own BS (mirror match with throwing lots of kicks)

Hands down one of the most amazing boss fights in this game. Ties or beats Murong Yuan and Moongazing Maiden for me. Music is fire, setting is fire, clashing blades are fire. I didn't use Divinecraft or Dragon's Breath just to extend the fight.

First time I tried Free Morph in Abyss, it's awesome.

Few things i noticed, maybe will help someone defeat or no hit her:

  • at the start of Phase 2, if you don't approach her she uses one out of three faster attacks that she barely will use again during the fight. You might want to run up to her for standard attacks instead.
  • when she does 3 slow slashes, a gold attack follows ("drawing the symbol"). It's enough to walk behind her for her to miss.
  • when she creates fire and after a few attacks, if she's not following immediately with more attacks then move back - she'll float into the air and you might be damaged at that moment. When fire balls appear it's enough to stay in the air (2x triple jump) and away from her to avoid the explosions.
  • when she jumps back to throw balls or whatever it is, if she's in pre-fire phase she'll likely jump back to you after throws; if during the fire phase she'll instead stay afar instead, so it's good to dodge (not deflect) the last ball to close the distance fast.
  • when at approx. 30% Qi she'll jump back to regenerate it. Hit her with Mystic Arts, she won't block these.
  • when at low health she'll say 别跑 (bie pao, "don't run") and do the 3-slower, 5-faster, 1-overhead attack sequence and be staggered if you block the last one.
  • easily staggered at few moments, as seen in the video. One could unload a fully charged Phalanxblade attack for faster kill during the stagger.
