I ordered a Wollerton Old Hall rose from Heirloom, which was delivered and planted the first week of May. Look who is all leafy and happy in her new spot! She is in full sun all day, and next to my garlic patch, after I planted and killed one with shade last summer. I can’t wait for blooms! USDA zone 6a.
I love these Autumn Rouge roses that I found online, but unfortunately, I think for my yard in the city, that I need to stick to climbers to save space. :( Should I consider moving my Sarah Bernhardt Peonies, which don’t bloom for as long? I found out that some of our MDs are trying to automate admin tasks with Claude. I’m not that worried about my role (EA and admin) because they don’t have a lot of visibility into my tasks or how they’re done. Plus, I help an executive that has trouble with tech, like sometimes with logging into Outlook or using PDFs. Am I naive to not be worried? My role is often high touch and a lot of the fully automated systems with vendors seem glitchy and annoying.
I noticed this side shoot off my Glencoe raspberry today and it is much thicker than my Floricanes, but I just planted them last year. It is primocane, right, and not some other weed? I was going to add compost around it or maybe move it to a sunnier spot, but if it is a new growth then it seems like the plant is pretty happy where it is.
I applied to 11 positions this morning, keep your fingers crossed for me. I’m looking for a place with a good culture after not connecting with my latest CEO. It feels strange after leaving my former position on a high note. On the positive side, I’m seeing well compensated positions and was surprised to see ranges listed that were higher than random controller and CPA postings that are showing up on job boards. I’m considering taking a blended EA/receptionist role at a prestigious firm. Worth it? The pay is good and would be a nice bump for me. My title at a smaller firm sounds better, so on paper it feels like a bit of a shift down.
