What's wrong with my ants?
Ever since my Lasius niger colony woke up from hibernation they have been acting strange. The main thing is that all the workers move around in a jittering and clumsy way as you can see in the video. Some workers are more affected than others, but all of them seem lethargic and they never run around happily like my other ants do.
My other reason for concern is that they show hardly any interest in food. Before hibernation, this was one of my fastest growing colonies, and they would go crazy for fruit flies. But now they hardly even touch fruit flies, and will maybe take a few of them back to the nest after a few hours. I've had a bit more success with crickets, but they are nothing like as interested as they used to be.
Does anyone know what might be causing them to act like this? All my other ants have been fine, including my other Lasius niger colonies. The queen seems to be normal and is still laying eggs. They have a good amount of brood at the moment and there are lots of new workers hatching, but something just doesn't seem right.
