Support Group for Male Survivors in Merced County
I really hope this is ok to post here (apologies to mods if NOT ok) - I tried this a few years ago, but wasn't ready at that time.
I am looking to start a group for other male survivors specifically locally in Merced County, CA, or potentially online if enough interest.

Unfortunately there are not enough resources in our area so I wanted to start one for us. Please message me if you are interested in helping me start a group or would like to talk. Once group is formed we can meet either in person or zoom depending on group needs.
RESEARCHERS HAVE FOUND THAT AT LEAST 1 IN 6 MEN HAVE EXPERIENCED SEXUAL ABUSE OR ASSAULT, WHETHER IN CHILDHOOD OR AS ADULTS. Unfortunately, that stat is most likely much higher, since it doesn’t include noncontact experiences, which can also have lasting negative effects. If you’ve had such an experience, or think you might have, you are not alone.
ASCA meetings are exclusively for adult survivors of physical, sexual or emotional abuse. No observers please.
ASCA meetings are not intended for survivors who are currently perpetrating abuse on others. Talking about your own acts of perpetrator type behavior is NEVER permissible or tolerated.

This is NOT a troll post either, but a serious attempt to create a group committed to thriving and healing from this terrible and unnecessarily stigmatized reality for about 1 in 4 men.
