In search of a mechanic

Hi I'm looking for a place that I can get this fixed at. I'm on a budget so anything around $600-$700 or of higher any that can do some kind of payment plan. From what I've been told is that it just need to be either welded or another pipe welded on for the repair.

How do yall date here 😭

Is it like just the central valley oooor what. But trying to date and find good people to talk to is painstakingly annoying! So over it, help!
And I’ve seen the speed dating, but to pay $30, insane. I don’t even wanna pay a subscription on a dating app nor can I afford that. There has to be better and safe ways to meet semi normal well behaved people, who are interested in dating and socializing.
Or do we need to start from scratch and train human beings how to treat one another and court each other 😭 lmao plzzz tell me I’m not the only one who feels like this

Been in Merced since June — where do kids or creatives here go to be creative? Genuinely asking

I've been staying with family friends on and off in Merced since June. As someone who is originally from Sacramento, I am shocked with the sheer number of corporate stores here. Starbucks x100. Olive Garden. Target. CVS. Walgreens. Jamba. Papa John's. It's just the same ol' same ol' everywhere. I have noticed the mom and pop shops, which I always love to see, but I'm curious to know where there are creative outlets here?

Back in Sac, we have Blick's, The Creative Space, and pop-up events throughout the city/year to host creative events including poetry slams, wine/paint nights and whatever else they're cooking in the grid. Crawls along J Street were always the coolest to experience growing up. Now.... with Merced.... what do ya'll do? I see a lot of kids when I'm here, especially middle school to high school-aged kids. Do they have a place to paint, build, be curious?

I hope I do not come off as offensive, I'm genuinely curious. Does this just not exist here? I have done searches for local creators, and I am really impressed with what I see (ex. the mural in Walmart's entrance). Where do creative people gather?

What app or websites do you use to navigate the bus system?

Hello! I’m a commuting student who has to travel between Atwater and Merced for school. I prefer to use the bus when I can, but I found that the app I use for it isn’t always accurate as it relies on users inputting data, and I’ve missed out on route cancellations that have caused me to miss classes.

Do you have any recommendations on how I can keep up with bus-related news and route tracking? Thanks in advance!

CASINO MERCED FRAUD

Hey everyone,

Has anyone else had an issue with casino merced not paying you out. Had an issue on the baccarat game at the card room, where there was an issue with the same pattern on the board for numerous hands so players increased their bets and after players won a significant amount of money, the casino refused to pay out. They dealt a total of 37 hands out and the floor manager verified all payouts, but when it came time to cash out, they refused to pay. This issue happened on July 4, 2026 and has been under investigation by the doj for a month now with no update. This involved a combined over $100k of payout between 3 of us players who were playing. Any recommendations ?

Updating this fantasy map of California and would love any new suggestions about what to include!

Apologies if you've seen this elsewhere - this is the most current version with lots of suggestions from other redditors.

I'm making a map of California in a classic fantasy style (sorta Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones). It's going to be filled with real world history and mythology, with the aim of highlighting local landmarks in a fun and educational way. Please ignore how rough parts of it look (text going through hills, rivers, etc), it'll all get cleaned up at the end. Forests will be going on at the end too.

While it's around two thirds done, I'd love to get more places and features in here before I get this made into print. Any more petroglyphs, burial mounds, ruins, forts, battlefields, Civil War heritage, ghost towns or the like that you think should be on here? Anything else is great too - landmarks, natural features, mythological creatures or just anything cool and quirky you think would look good on here. Thanks!

What do you recommend for regional Mexican food?

I know about Carnitas Michoacan, but beyond that my ignorance is vast. What restaurants do you like, or even specific dishes?

Looking for bbq recommendations in Merced

Hey, folks. I moved to Merced a couple of years ago and the only place I know is the Bar B Q Pit but never been. Is it any good. I've noticed they don't have firewood outside anymore and was wondering if anyone here knows if their bbq is any good. Any other places in Merced y'all recommend?

Wi-Fi services Merced and Atwater

What Wi-Fi service are you using? Is it reliable with minimal outage? Cost efficient? I have Xfinity and works great but price keeps rising even with cheapest plans.

In search of a web developer.

Looking for someone local to help setup and potentially manage a website for my shop.

Already have the domain name, but need assistance in setting up via IndieMade.

Currently selling high volume on Etsy and need to host my own page to divert traffic to.
