Super Visa health insurance loophole? Not renewing until next re-entry
Parents are in Canada on Super Visa until October and their insurance renewal is coming up.
Thinking of not renewing now since they’ll leave in October anyway, then buying a fresh 1-year Super Visa insurance policy before they return in next year.
Feels like a bit of a loophole since IRCC mainly checks insurance at entry/re-entry. Obviously if anything happens medically while uninsured, that risk is fully on us, not IRCC.
Has anyone done this? Any issues later with CBSA/IRCC?
