Normalizing Sexual Harassment
I called out my older brother (25M) and his friends’ sexual harassment sa mga babaeng nakakausap nila online (not sure what app but it’s like an omegle). Pero dinepensahan pa sila ng Auntie ko telling me that it’s fine as long as they’re not fighting and making ruckus here sa bahay, and as long as I am not their victim. That’s when I got irritated and pointed out that she is the older one here and the caretaker of the house, why would she let them do that and why won’t she do anything about it. Anyway, mostly sa friends ng kapatid ko ay teenagers, iilan ang nasa 20’s.
Gitna ng bukid ang bahay namin kaya wala kaming kapit-bahay and nag iisang dalaga lang ako sa bahay kasama ang Auntie ko, my Grandma, and that of my brother. That’s why I feel uncomfortable and especially unsafe whenever they’re around. Hindi ko alam ang takbo ng utak ng mga lalakeng ito including my older brother. Tapos ako pa ang sasabihan ng makitig ang utak at dapat maging diverse?
It’s so frustrating. Ganito ba talaga ang older generations? as long as hindi ikaw ang victim, okay lang? tf
