The woman I'm dating got angry – unreasonable?
We have been dating for 4 months. She's a chef and does occasional pop-ups around town where she sells her food (it's delicious). She had invited me to one of these about 3 weeks prior; I told her that I wanted to go, and planned on it. That morning she told me not to worry about going as childcare was starting to seem difficult (I i'm a single dad with a 9 year old, scheduling is challenging.).
I told her I really wanted to go and she told me not to worry about it, there would be other events, kids come first, etc. I took her at her word.
When she came home later that night, she was furious with me, she told me that I was just like all the other men who she had dated who did not respect her and treated her like garbage; and that I made her feel like garbage/worthless by not going to the event. I was very taken aback as I was not expecting to be on the receiving end of so much anger.
We talked and resolved it an hour later, but still the feeling lingers. It kind of feels like a betrayal to me, that she would tell me one thing is OK, and then turn around and be completely furious with me about it. Especially when it comes to taking care of my kid. This is not the first time this has happened, she has a tendency to crash out and to be honest it's starting to get exhausting. Any advice appreciated thank you!
