Hope they like it!

I live in a small village in rural Ohio.

A few years ago when we had a forward thinking council, they voted in an anti discrimination ordinance, barring discrimination based on the usual, including sexual orientation.

NOW, the council has less enlightened members who tried to repeal the ordinance.

It didn’t work, thankfully.

But ONE of those council members owns two “rental” houses (I use the term loosely because they should both be torn down) right across the street from me. They are in a constant state of “repair”.

She was spear heading the effort to repeal the ordinance. One of her compatriots has the audacity to say on the public record, “Maybe some people just shouldn’t live here.”

This lady likes to bring a couple older gents over and they stand outside, staring at my house and me, apparently trying to intimidate me.

They picked the wrong horse to try and break. 🤣

I do hope they enjoy looking at my house while doing the “repairs” to theirs.

30 years and 1 month

The pet I’ve owned the longest. I have quite the menagerie that includes cats, dogs, reptiles, spiders and snakes.

This is Sarah.

She is confirmed 30 years and 1 month as I can date owning her to a certain event on July 4th, though she is actually older by probably a year or so.

She has ALWAYS hated anything a captive corn snake should enjoy. No heater. No lights. She is just in a huge tank near big windows that get great sunlight all year, and she seems to love it. She lounges in front of the windows in her tank.

She eats once a week and is quite active yet.

Update on Walt our little CDS delivery from last month.

Walt arrived in our front yard at midnight about a month ago or so, screaming his little head off for help.

All the critters seem to find us when they need us most. Walt is the 4th one this year.

We thought he had a hernia and he was due to have surgery this morning. When we got to the vet, he did an exam and the knot that had popped up on Walt’s side is practically gone!

We are still monitoring him carefully, but there was no surgery today!!

He is home and happily running around, tormenting the other cats.

Looks like our newest addition is going to be just fine!

I’d like to paws my subscription

The first picture is Crazy Eyes. She is a feral young lady who got dumped near an old abandoned building. It took us a week of baiting a live trap to catch her.

She has been living in my basement for a month while we get her squared away. We had planned to have her spayed and her ear tipped so she could go back out. She is NOT happy inside and will never acclimate. But she blessed us with 2 kittens 3 days ago.

And rest assured, she has all the blankets and soft bedding she could want and need and is using them now. This picture is when we found her fuzzy little surprises.

We really try not to fuss with her too much because she really is a grumpy, grumpy girl.

The second picture is Walt. He showed up two weeks ago at midnight, screaming his little head off in my front yard. He has a hernia and has to have surgery next week.

Walt and the fuzzy little surprises will stay with us and we are gonna give Spicy Mama a nice house outside by fall.

But I absolutely must request that the CDS give my place a pass for the next few trips. 🤣

Titanic Sinks Tonight

Just discovered that Hulu is now streaming a 4 part 2025 documentary that goes through the sinking in real time.

Looks to have originally aired in Nat Geo in April and May of this year.

I always wonder what he’s thinking about.

Howard does this every few days. Just comes down to the window and hangs out.

Hi everyone

Not sure what flair to use to say hi!

Or exactly how to say hi!

Very happy to have found this group!

I know, lots to unpack there, so here’s a picture of Opie and Wellington to make you smile. 😊

Watching Galaxy Quest with my wife (that is the weird noise in the background, I promise).

Better half decided to grab some leftovers from supper.

Opie is on the job! Not letting one potential left over snack get away!
