Cleaned up an old friend - 20y old Kershaw Groove 1730

Due to some recent knife purchases I found time to look through my drawer and found this beauty. I bought it almost 20 years ago and used it as a camping knife. It had a lot of grime on it, especially in the recesses, so I decided to give it some love.

Dismantled completely, cleaned and oiled. I am pretty happy how it turned out, so I decided to share some pics, enjoy.

LionSteel Thrill orange

So, my second arrival last week, its a LionSteel Thrill. I did not technically need it, but the design just got to me, and I got a nice 20 EUR discount on it. Its for EDC and being in Germany its legal to carry due to not locking.

Manufacturing quality is absolutely fantastic. Out of the box it was so sharp that I actually found it kinda scary. Resistance when folding feels kinda stiff, which is probably due to the spring being part of the Aluminium frame. I've read that this is a weakspot of sorts, I guess I will find out.

Böker Plus Cataclyst Flipjoint Damast

This lovely companion just arrived today. It does not lock, so its free to carry where I live. Always wanted something with damascus steel, so here we are. Need to get used to get it open, there is quite some intial resistance, I am not used to have.
