Be careful in public especially late at night!

I just had a situation at the Harris Teeter on Pisgah Church. I’m a 25 year old girl and ran to HT to grab a couple of items I needed. I noticed a middle aged man dressed in all black come from around the building and heading into the store as I was walking into the store from the parking lot. I noticed immediately and thought it was strange he just came from the side/back of the building and wasn’t parked in the store lot. However, I noted it and told myself to stay vigilant. I walked to the desert isle, realized I didn’t need any of that, walked to the wine isle, grabbed the typical wine I get, and then went to grab a mouthwash. I noticed the same man was slowly trailing behind me, empty handed, not actually grabbing anything and looking in random areas that you’d normally look with the intention to grab something (beer isle, seafood, butcher section?). He just had both hands in his pockets and occasionally we’d make eye contact because I kept looking at him as I noticed he could possibly be trailing me. I understand that people are allowed to look around and not actually pick things up, but a grocery store trip at 10pm without a clear intention of what you’re coming to grab? A bit sketchy. So after our last eye contact, I decided immediately that I’m going to leave quickly but also ask the security guard to watch me walk to my car because I feel eerie.

All of this to say, if you feel vulnerable or like your an easy target for trafficking or kidnapping, please stay vigilant and do not be afraid to ask someone to walk you to your car if you’re concerned. He very well could have been a normal guy just bored and exploring a grocery store, however, I have noticed a ton of strange activity in Greensboro (my MIL was surrounded by a group of masked men in broad daylight outside of the target on Lawndale recently). Stay aware and stay off your phone when in public alone!!!
