I went to watch the odyssey again in Melody on 19-07-2026, it was a sunday evening, and in melody, I was seated in the P row, almost at the centre of the auditorium. Knowing Vizag audience, and especially single screen audience, my thought walking into the theatre was "I made a huge mistake, going to a packed single screen on a sunday evening will ruin my experience". Because I watched the movie on the first day, and I did hear a lot of cross talking through out the movie, in melody.

As soon as I entered the theatre, the trailer of brand new day was being played, and the guy to my left was watching something on the phone, and the people to my right, a girl was explaining the prologue of the odyssey to her family. I thought I was in for a ride. But as soon as the Universal title was on screen, it was pin drop silence. Stayed like that until the interval, same with the second half of the film. No talking, no randomly opening the phone and watching nonsense ( people can watch, but not disturbing the person next to them, but this audience didn't ), no random seat kicking. Perfect theatre etiquette. Thouroughly enjoyed the viewing experience. Not a single whisper. I dream for days like these.

A big shout out to the entire audience. Had a memorable experience, better than the day 1. Credit where it is due.

Sukumar has made a film called rangasthalam. It is the story about a village which was reeking with opression and discrimination, and everytime somebody wants things to change, they disappear out of nowhere. And how Kumar babu and his brother Chitti Babu changed the fate of the village, and how his family got affected in the process. That is the story.

In that movie, Sukumar, instead of introducing each character and their characterisation, he established the world called Rangasthalam. He told what the village was, how the people in the village lived, what was their livelihood, how a certain authority was forced onto them, and how Jagapthi Babu stayed as a president from the very beginning. Now 30 minutes into the film, you are inside the world of Rangasthalam, a family member of Chittibabu, and viewing things from their POV. When Kumar Babu challenges the opposition, the president, you actually understand why the village needed a change in government, you actually feel the cause and support that cause. Involuntarily. Director did not employ any special means to get you hooked, nor it were great twists or a crazy plot line to keep you engaged, it was simple set up and pay off, and town establishment. But as soon as Kumar Babu died, you alongside Chitti Babu, feel the void, becuase by that time you were a part of Rangasthalam, you felt the necessity for the authority to change, you understood the hardships faced by the characters, the void of Rangamatha and Chitti babu, and felt the oppression, all because Sukumar managed to establish the town, and the problem, and stuck to it in every damn scene. In every scene you see one party being pulled down. Until the payoffs happen.

Now Mr. Buchi Babu Sana, who has worked closely on that film, has made a film called peddi. A story about a guy who has fought hard and bought a railway station to their village.

>!Now, instead of establishing the "Konda kinda Ooru", or the need for the train to that city, he showed the lives of that villagers. The villagers were very happy to walk the mile, to get to their destination. Even though they are being discriminated, they question it and again leave it, because they know that they will be discriminated, how is a railway station going to change that ? Even if you bring a railway station to that city, you will still be the same Konda kinda ooru guy, and not a part of Vizianagaram. Instead of that, establish the city and how the lack of train station is affecting them. There is no hospital in that village, and a medical emergency is gonna rattle the entire bloody town, there was scope, you did not show that. Deaths happen due to the long journey, a train would change it, show that. Establish the need for the train to the audience, why that village desperately needs that train, and make the hero fight for it. If that is established well, there is no need for you to pull out the leg drama as well. From the start the audience did not understand the importance of the train station to that village. You had set ups none of them were utilised, not a single, how on earth did you think this would work ?!<!<

All this after working with the best director in the industry who utilises the skill of set up and pay offs. You seriously need to learn man. And the mindset should change. There are a lot of problematic thoughts in the film, which can easily be skipped, but still there because you chose to keep it. 0 character depth for all the characters. Even Peddi. His emotions were not completely explored. Movie name is PEDDI for god's sake, atleast try to complete him.

This is not a review, just a rant of how, we are being exploited as an audience with below par writing, and fans online trying to defend this instead of questioning it. Ask for premium products, our actors are capable of delivering. If Ram Charan is capable of delivering such a wonderful performance with this kind of nonsense script, imagine what wonders he can do with a good script. Insted of that fans are trying to defend mediocre prodcuts.
