Recognition for Geotechs on "The Bear"

I was watching the final season of The Bear, when one of the characters mentioned "we need a geotech" to deal with their sink hole problems.

Yes, its just a tiny silly moment. But it's the first time I've ever heard our profession on TV or in popular culture. It has me overly excited.

Have you heard shout outs to Geotechs on any other show or movie?

Drizzle - Nest in Peace

Drizzle began life a a child's 4H project before being rehomed to my wife and her flock of nine chickens. Drizzle was always timid and was the bottom of the pecking order. But she survived as the others passed of age and illness the over the subsequent 8 years. And even outlived Clem and Yolko who were brought in to keep a healthy age diverse flock. After Yolko's recent passing, she was on her third iteration of the flock with two younger hens, and had finally risen from bottom of the pecking order to head hen. Drizzle had a challenging life, but was our ultimate survivor and longest lived hen at 8.5 years old. She died of an apparent heart attack or stroke earlier today. Part of me thinks that she outlived so many of her flockmates that her heart couldn't take it any more.

I will always remember Drizzle for her charatistic anxiety and pessimism (her nickname was anxiety chicken), her unique characteristic burr buurrrr chicken call, lucious beard, and the softest feathers of any chicken I've ever met. I had fond memories with her roosting on the couch in the time following her friend Snowflake's abduction.

You had quite the life, and you will be missed. If there is any consolation its that you can finally let your many worries go.

Yolko - Nest in Peace

Nest in Peace Yolko - She and her partner Clementine were given to us by another family 6 years ago. I hate to admit that she was my least favourite of the flock at first, as she bullied Drizzle (our eldest hen) and tried to hog all of the treats. But as Clem's health declined for months, Yolko was so sweet, protective and nurturing to her this time. I saw an entirely different side to Yolko. Clem's passing left her a more mature bird, and one who took the reins of head hen and (mostly, excusing the occasional foot peck) left any bullying behavior behind. She was a spirited chicken, friendly to humans, always energetic, and a rock solid guide to her flock. Even to Drizzle. As far as egg production, "Yolko yolks" were always my favourite; a large sized egg and very tastey. Overtime, she went from my least favourite to most valued flock member. I thought we had many more years with her, and i'm sad that we wont. Nest in peace Yolko.

▲ 205 r/Tyranids

This is how the 4th Tyranic War ends - with a passing reference on a website article about the Guard and The Ultramarines as a set up for 11th Edition Armageddon setting.

This grand surprise attack by Leviathian threatened to be a spear into the heart of the Imperium, Terra itself. But after the 10th edition rules book, it quickly went silent. And now it appears to be concluded with half assed reference to Calgar's fleet returning from the battle.

Some people say it was just a setup for a setting, and that I shouldnt have expected a conclusion or narritive. That may be true. But being done dirty like this certainly kills my enthusiasm for any other edition set ups.
