Idk if it’s just the people around me lately but there seems to be a phenomenon with men in their 30s being obsessed with golf all of a sudden the way a child would be obsessed with hot wheels.

Golf clothes, golf hats, their wives wearing golf logos even if they have never played, their 1 year olds having golf themed birthdays…. Like pls.

Hi! I’m planning on having kids soon and I thought it would be fun to hear people’s favorite memories with their parents - it could be a special memory, a weekly ritual, the way they made you feel - anything!

I’ll start: Harry Potter (book 1) was published when I was 9 years old and my sister was 7. My mom (who was a single mom) read a couple of chapters a night out loud to us before bed. We then went to all the midnight book releases, and then eventually the movies.

It’s a very happy memory that reminds me of the good times and that my mom always did her best in a childhood that wasn’t always perfect

Kind of an annoyed rant lol

Ok so long story short (due to circumstances out of my control) I got trapped in the hellhole that was the turnpike/i95 during the F1 race yesterday.

I tend to avoid big events like this bc frankly, there’s not much I think is worth these massive gridlocks, angry drivers, 75 dollar parking - but a new thing I noticed was SO MANY police escorts weaving through highway gridlock causing even more traffic!

I understand a police escort for a funeral or a mega celebrity/politician that needs security but I saw at least 15 escorts in 50 min.

Seems like an abuse of the system, given FHP & police are tax funded and are SUPPOSED TO “protect and serve” the general public?? How much do ppl pay for this?? Are police annoyed that they are being treated like private security?

Am I missing something?
