First time to Vietnam. Flying into and out of Hanoi 28th august - 12th Sept- itinerary help
As the title suggests - 3 adults flying out for sons 21st birthday.
Things we definitely will be doing-
Ha Giang Loop (from the 2nd September when our son joins us)
Ha long bay or go somewhere different but similar experience?
We will likely do the 3 night 4 day ha giang loop tour with return sleeper bus from hanoi.
Having never been before we're looking for advice on everything else...
Recommendations where to stay for the first few nights when me and my wife get to hanoi before our son joins us?
Things that we should do in and around hanoi?
Is the ha long bay overnight cruise worth it? Or just day trip or go somewhere completely different ( my wife likes the idea of visiting the islands)
Happy to go to a different place/island to stay and explore if any Recommendations?
Budget isn't a big deal.. dont necessarily need to stay in the most expensive hotels etc but want to make it a special holiday.
We are used to Bali, have done the usual things over there such as zoos, swings, rafting, quad biking etc. So not really bothered by that.
We're used to riding scooters in bali but dont necessarily need to in Vietnam ( we have idl and insurances to cover- but also happy to jump on a grab etc.)
Any help with an itinerary, hotels to stay, things to do etc would be great.
