I’m traveling to the Amalfi Coast this summer and trying to plan logistics as smoothly as possible.
Our flight lands in Rome around noon, and we’re hoping to get to Scala the same day. What’s the easiest and most reliable route? I’m considering train to Salerno + ferry as the affordable alternative.
From what I’ve researched, the train to Salerno seems fastest (around 1.5–2 hours), then a transfer to the coast — but I’d love to hear what actually works best in real life.
Also, with the newer airport requirements (identity checks + fingerprints), how much time should I anticipate this will take?
