This may be a dumb question but I need to lubricate the bearing on my DLEC855R dryer and I was wondering what the best way to remove the old lubricant and gunk would be before applying the new lubricant

I am under the impression I need to clean off the old stuff since I’m technically using a different lubricant (lubricant from bearing kit vs now using Frigidaire high temp lubricant (lg doesn’t have their own I guess?))
