A few shots from my XT50 using the Helios 44-2 that I took today.
Helios 44-2 has gotten me addicted, this week I’ve purchased about 4 other cheap vintage lenses, it would be a problem if they weren’t so damn affordable!
After scouring eBay I’ve ended up buying -
Pentacon 29mm 2.8
Pentacon 50mm 1.8
Helios 44-4
Meyer Optik Görlitz 50mm 1.8 (I know it’s basically the same as the the one above but it was £18 and I want to compare)
I want to find a cheap 35 too but can’t settle on one, there’s plenty of Carl Zeiss ones but they are a little pricey and I purposely want to experiment with very low budget stuff.
My first experience with any vintage lens, and manual focussing. Helios 44m-4 on an XT50.
Some of these are a little soft due to my inexperience with manual focussing, but as HCB said “Sharpness is a bourgeois concept”.
These shots are from my first two outings with it, I love it so much I’ve purchased a 44-2 to compare and play with also.
Can anyone recommend any other relatively inexpensive unique m42 lenses I could also get? This 56mm is pretty extreme for me so maybe something not quite as long?
