Selling the A7CII for a Fuji ie X-E5. Anyone else made a similar jump?

Long post, sorry. Trying to think this through out loud.

I bought the A7CII about two years ago when I was creating content for Instagram; travel, video, colour grading, the whole thing. Got to around 22k followers on insta and then hit a wall. The editing process completely burnt me out. The camera and content started feeling like a work obligation.

I now find myself reaching for the GRIII. No edits, straight to phone, done.

The A7CII is a great camera. I have the 24mm, 40mm, and 50mm G primes, plus the 28-60 and the 20-70. I have noticed though I almost exclusively shoot the 40mm. The rest just sits on the shelf. I'm not a professional, I shoot friends, family, and travel.

I've been going back and forth on Fujifilm for ages. Worried it was GAS. But I think there's a difference between buying gear to fix a problem you don't have, and selling gear that no longer fits your life. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

Looking at the X-E5 with the new 23mm f/2.8 pancake as my main setup, probably a small zoom to keep and film simulations mean I can get a look I'm happy with in-camera and occasionally open Lightroom. That's the goal.

Selling the Sony kit should cover the X-E5 body and lens comfortably.

I know the A7cii specs and AF is better, but do I need better? The A7cii hasnt seen much adventure lately, and loves sitting at my desk.

Has anyone gone from Sony full frame to an X-E5 or similar and not looked back? Or regretted it? Genuinely curious whether the "you'll miss full frame" thing is real for this kind of casual shooting.

Shots from my first few weeks

Hey guys!

I recently got a xt-200 and I’m on week 2 of my Fuji journey. I haven’t edited any of my shots because I’m a newbie and want to really learn how to get better at shooting before getting into editing.
Im learning a lot, These are a few pictures I’ve taken and I’m open to all feedback <3

Fujifilm XF 18/1.4 or Voigtlander 18mm f/2.8?

Currently I have a Fujifilm XF 18/2 (actually I had it for years already), but I am not happy with the optical performance.

I am mainly looking for a "city walkaround" lens on my X-T30 III. Both the XF 18mm F/1.4 and the Voigtlander 18mm fit in my budget, but they are very different lenses of course.

My requirements:

- great optical performance (CA, distortion, sharpness) without software corrections to the RAWs (I work with RawTherapee, and even with the available lens profile, I find the performance of the XF 18/2 not great)

- good match with my X-T30; this makes me doubt about the XF 18/1.4 because it's much larger than the other options

- related to that, suitable as a "city walkaround" lens. I have the XF 35/1.4 which fulfills that requirement as well, but I also want a more wide angle lens (I like the 18mm perspective).

I am aware that the Voigtlander is manual focus. I don't think that's a major issue for a 18mm lens really.

May I ask which one you would choose, and why? Thanks!

X-E5 lens recommendations / questions?

Sorry, another one of these...

I have a x100vi. Moving from Nikon to Fuji, have already sold my Nikon bodies and lenses prior because the experience on the x100vi was more enjoyable. I am seriously considering buying the XE5 (before anyone says, I know they're extremely similar! I like the feel and look of the smaller body, plus the flip up screen is appealing).

I don't really want to get rid of the x100vi, this made me fall in love with photography again and, like its lens, I've grown ridiculously attached :') but I miss interchangeable lenses.

I am new to smaller focal lengths and prime lenses. I had zooms with my Nikons. I didn't understand how they worked. I just pointed and shot.

I know my question is very amateur, but is there much difference between the kit lens 23mm with the XE5 and the 35mm f2?

Are there other small lenses by Fuji you could recommend to somebody who enjoys taking street, animal and concert photos as a hobby - particularly the latter as I know most venues won't allow professional cameras. All advice appreciated. Treat me like I'm dumb, I'm not a novice but very new to Fuji and taking my hobby a little more seriously. :)

First Fuji: X-M5 vs X-E3?

I’m looking for my first Fuji camera and deciding between the X-M5 and X-E3.

I like the X-M5 because I can buy it new and get newer features, but I’m worried about not having a viewfinder, especially for sunny days, travel, and street photography.

I like the X-E3 because it has an EVF, better build, and a rangefinder-style body, but I’d have to buy used.

I’m a product design student, so I’d use it for product/portfolio photos, but also travel, friends/family, everyday carry, and street photography.

Which would you recommend? what affordable lenses would pair well with either body? Where are the best places to look for purchasing these cameras?

Lens suggestion for indoor gymnastics photography

I'm in the process of moving back to Fuji after using Sony for a long time and am getting a XM-5. I am trying to find the best lens for shooting indoor gymnastics. Because I will be shooting in gyms under low light I need a good lens that can weigh up shooting fast moving action at a distance under low light. What do people suggest?

Xf 70-300 paired with xh2 - thoughts?

In general day to day my xf33 1.4 lives on my camera and I'll keep that sweet prime forever.

Semi regularly I end up renting a Tele for trips, usually the xf100-400, which has gone well for me.

I feel a bit daft renting teles all the time so I was thinking about buying my own for more consistent use with a view to getting out and practicing more regularly. The price new, the range, the IQ and improved AF while zooming all sound ace. I particularly love the idea of having a Tele that can be a pseudo macro lens. Plus the size is a little more convenient, though that's probably not my main drive.

Use case is a more versatile kit I guess, some wildlife, light macro, pulling out landscape details with compression. I love the xf50-140 but I think I'd like more reach and it's quite a bit more expensive. Between a voucher I have and a Fuji cashback offer I can get the 70-300 really quite cheap.

My questions:

- can anyone speak to how well this lens works on the xh2?

-is the output comparable to using the 100-400 (on the 40mp sensor)?

-anything else I should know?

Thanks for any help and advice :)
