Azelaic Acid Introduction

I was prescribed Tretinoin 0.025% in 2024 for acne and slowly have increased the frequency and the strength over the last two years to 0.1% nightly. Recently, my GP prescribed Azelaic Acid 15% to be used twice a day. Unlike the Tretinoin prescription, they did not have any recommendations for acclimating your skin or order to use with other steps. I had purged while my skin adjusted initially, but the step up in strength has been tolerated well.

Any advice on how to introduce azelaic acid into my routine? I had used OTC azelaic acid without irritation/stinging for the last two months in the morning only before sunscreen, admittedly I don’t feel like it’s done much.

PM:

Cerave Salicylic Acid Face Wash

Retin-A 0.1%

Acne.org Moisturizer

AM:

Paula’s Choice 10% Azelaic Acid Booster

SKIN1004 - Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF50+ PA++++ (reapplied at least once or twice, depending on the day).

I currently don’t deal with much acne any more, aside from the hormonal spots I get around my period. I have some natural skin-redness and texture. My skin used to be oily, but now I think its more combination since being on tret.

Thanks in advance!

My fiance and I sent our wedding gift 6 weeks in advance of the wedding, so definitely a little too early but the registry was open for 2 months already. We gifted a very nice kitchen appliance that was one of the more expensive items on the registry, mainly because of its price I just want to make sure it was received.

Because it was done through the registry, I did receive a confirmation that it was delivered to their town home, but aside from that haven’t heard anything. The wedding was last week, so I was thinking to wait at least a month before reaching out?

I had a separate experience with gift registries where we sent a very nice bassinet in advance of a baby shower and my girlfriend never mentioned receiving it until joking that it’s collecting dust, never used. I might be feeling a little jaded because of that, so I want to be gracious and go about it better this time.
