Why not stop at mini high level platforms?
Okay hear me out. Some stations, like my station South Orange, have low level platforms but have a mini high level platform that’s like 1 car length or so, so that station is technically accessible.
But what I see is that when trains are short a car or two, they just blow past the high level platform and stop elsewhere. Why? Why not stop so one car is at the high level platform, no matter your length?
PS, at South Orange, the main station entrance is in the middle, so the reason isn’t that it stops at the other end for the main entrance.
