It was about a year ago that a friend of mine has found a very interesting place somewhere in the suburbs of Copenhagen. I really don't assume it to be any kind of confabulation and I am really puzzled since both of us live here for many years and to this day none of us know where it's located and I would appreciate if someone can help identifying the place. So one day my friend told me that while she was walking home from around the bus stop De Små Haver towards Forum through Frederiksberg Allé, she might have turned around the wrong street and ended up at an area she described as something very unusual in relation to the appearance of the city in general. She told me she would love to see it again some day and definitely worths a visit. In her words, it is a large square surrounded by a group of small, highly ornate palaces, each having a clear white facade and spaced very sparsely around a dimly lit square (it was around night hours). The pavement has some kind of an irregular incline from the middle towards the buildings and it is entirely made of white marble/granite-like tiles. I have never seen such a layout here anywhere as if it was an entirely different city. Initially I assumed it was the 8-sided square with the small fountain in Frederiksberg Allé because of the incline but we checked it out and it does not match her description. It was neither Den Hvide By, as the buildings were non-residential and "far more elegant and aristocratic than that." One really weird aspect of the place was the absence of motor vehicles, no traffic signs or people around as if it was completely cut off from the rest of Copenhagen (similarly to for example Kødbyen) and that a bluish/pink light was used for the lighting on the outside of the houses as if it was the entrance to Tivoli or something spectacular. Unfortunately my friend's phone battery was on 0% so there was no chance of taking pictures or saving the GPS location and my friend was completely sure that it was a very popular historical and touristic area, so I was wondering that none of us knew of this even though we both live in Copenhagen for many years now. Because of a sudden and heavy storm that just came before she arrived to the place, she was basically just rushing through it, not taking notes of street names but there weren't many signs anywhere either. In any way, in about a kilometer or two she ended up around the Planetarium then the Vesterport station and ever since it has been a mystery to us where exactly she has been that day. Does anyone know the place in question? I would really appreciate it. Cheers.
