Hela landet är chockat även med svenska mått mätt, eftersom vi också har en historia av att ge absurda straff till yrkeskriminella. Jag har alltid föreställt mig Danmark som bättre på det här området, men insåg att ni på något sätt kan vara värre.

Edit: För dem som inte vet, så fick den våldsamma huliganen ett år i fängelse. Ja, du läste rätt.

Double edit: People are implying i'm being unfair for calling this a murder when it was a supposed single punch that killed the Swede. Maybe, but it was from a perpetrator with a deep history of violent behavior(of which he has several previous convictions from) and from what i understand, is trained in combat sports which should make him better understand the potential lethalness of a single punch. The Swede was just trying to break up a fight in a non violent way.

I’ve been in Copenhagen for around 10 years but I’m originally from a similar sized city in another country in Europe.

While I’m settled and objectively doing pretty well here, I still miss the culture and atmosphere of home and I’m considering leaving.

My question is, has anyone left Copenhagen for an objectively worse city? In terms of career opportunities, quality of life, safety, health care etc.

I’d love to hear stories about people leaving to go home for the sake of those intangibles like culture or simply being closer to family, and if it was all worth it or a huge regret.

Der er åbenbart en kultur i København med, at når man skal ud af enten tog eller bus, så står den flok der skal ind helt klistret op af døren, som om at de aldrig nogensinde vil kunne nå ind efter folk er gået ud. Jeg er ved at blive vanvittig over det.

Jeg er efterhånden der hvor jeg overvejer bare at gå ud og så må jeg jo vælte ind i folk så de lære at gå bare en halv meter tilbage.

Jeg ser det ingen andre steder i Danmark end i København og omegn. Er københavnere bare ekstra egoistiske eller hvad?

Jeg er flere gange gennem de seneste år stødt på en kvinde, som jeg ofte ser med 5C-bussen. Det virker, som om hun nogle gange tager bussen fra den ene ende til den anden.

Jeg har lagt mærke til hende gennem cirka tre år, og på det seneste er jeg blevet lidt bekymret for hende. Hun virker til at være i en udsat situation, taler ofte med sig selv, og jeg har på det seneste set hende uden bukser på, selvom det er så koldt udenfor. Jeg har også flere gange set hende løbe ud i trafikken ved Sundbyvester Plads, hvilket har gjort mig bekymret for, om hun er okay.

Jeg skriver ikke dette for at hænge hende ud, men fordi jeg oprigtigt er nysgerrig på, om andre har mødt hende, og om nogen ved, om hun får hjælp eller har nogen omkring sig.

Er der nogen herinde, som ved lidt mere om hendes situation eller måske kender hendes historie? Jeg håber mest af alt, at hun har det så godt, som omstændighederne nu tillader.

Som ovenstående. Tænker bare at det kan være spild af tid at dukke op til noget hvor jeg alligevel ikke har en chance for at få alligevel. Ville bare ende med at blive mega ked af det og skuffet hvis jeg ikke blev valgt grundet mit lave nummer på den eksterne venteliste.

On September 5th an extremist group called "Det Danske Folk" organized the largest far-right demonstration Denmark has seen since World War II. Approximately 1000 racists, fascists and nazis from all around the country gathered in Copenhagen to spread their hate in our neighborhoods and demand mass deportations of non-white minorities. Their call for "remigration", is nothing more than a rebranding of fascist thought, and many of the demonstrators felt safe enough to give the nazi salute. They are calling for a new demonstration on October 17th.

The extremist, far-right is on the rise all across Europe. In Denmark, this has been expressed mostly inside the parliament with mainstream parties (even self-proclaimed socialist parties) adopting the policies and language of the far-right, so they can cling on to power. Now, fascism is trying to set foot in our neighborhoods, too.

If you want to help show that this extremism is not welcome in Copenhagen, join the counter demonstration on 17th of October, 13.00 at Halmtorvet in Vesterbro.

Currently in the process of trying to find an apartment for my partner and I to move into. I have used websites such as BoligPortal and BoligHub to find apartments, but haven't needed to properly use them as I've only lived in student housing here.

BoligHub and BoligPortal both require paid subscriptions (and rather expensive ones at that) in order to contact landlords. Are there any other websites you would recommend to use? I am very aware of the prevalence of scams in the housing market, which is why I am hesitant to pay for a subscription for a website that could most likely be filled with scams. Do you guys have any suggestions? Are BoligHub and BoligPortal actually useful and worth it?

Hi! My wife and I will be visiting Copenhagen next week from Boston and we can't wait, it's our first time and have heard many wonderful things. So far I have dinners booked at Host, Barr, and Geranium (our last night) and a lunch booked at Norrylst. That leaves two open nights, one of the days we plan on going to Malmo for the day. I should say we are both chefs but we're good with high brow or low brow and everything in between. Not necessarily looking for anything similar to Geranium, just something delicious and interesting, budget is flexible. My wife also does not eat seafood at all (not an allergy just a preference) but vegetarian is perfectly fine for her or good meat options. We are staying at the Kong Arthur but happy to walk or uber or whatever. Thanks!

I’m (22m) a young filmmaker, interested in meeting other filmmakers or just film nerds in Copenhagen. I write, direct, act and have good knowledge of cinematography, cameras in general and editing. I’m kinda new to the city and don’t know how to go about this. I start film school in January, but I would love to meet some people now already. Could anyone recommend me how to find likeminded people? And if any filmmakers find this post just shoot me a dm or comment! I’d love to be friends:) Would be cool to have a little circle of filmmakers and I would also like to find some people to collab with. I have a lot of ideas for short films, but making movies all alone isn’t that enjoyable to me. Would be really cool to find some people!
