Buyer Beware - Level 3
I purchased an Aventon level 3 last summer. I did the bedding in procedure for the brakes and still ended up with immediate brake squeaking and grinding noises. I took my bike back to the local shop and they took everything apart, cleaned it and re bedded in the brakes. After my first ride with the bike back, the brakes started making the noise again.
This spring I have my bike out riding and the brakes and continuing to make the same noise, sometimes even making noises while I’m not even braking. I reached out to Aventon to see if any issue would be covered under warranty and they have been very clear in multiple messages back and fourth that brakes are not covered and I am happy to purchase and have new rotors and pads installed since I did not reach out about the issue within 30 days of purchase.
Seems wild to me that they wouldn’t even consider supporting an issue that has been ongoing from the start of the bike ownership. I am not a heavy bike rider, only have 180 miles on the bike. I don’t think I should be having to replace pads and rotors for around 200 miles…
Based on other threads and videos this is a known frustration of other level 3 owners and has me considering purchasing a different ebike brand. Any recommendations or thoughts?
