Condition Question— Stanton D6800EL Stylus

About a month ago I bought a Pioneer PL-514 off of someone, they threw in a spare stylus. I’m just now servicing it, and I’d like opinions on if this stylus is in good enough shape to install, or if I should pick something up from a Guitar Center or local music shop instead.

I don’t know if or how long it’s been used, nor does my seller. All info I have of it is the exterior and a photo of the tip under a light microscope. My gut reaction is that it seems fine, but people on this subreddit are more experienced than I am.

Repair Advice— Pioneer PL-514 Turntable

Hello! I am servicing my Pioneer PL-514. The main problem is the auto return. Right when it’s about to settle, it swings back out wildly. I looked at servicing videos + manual but I can’t find a fix.

I already used synthetic grease on the larger gear, the groove along its underside, and the long plastic piece to the right of it. I suspect it’s a problem with the plastic mechanisms attached to the tone arm. Any advice or tips would be very helpful.

Repair Help — Pioneer PL-514 Auto Return

I bought a Pioneer PL-514 a month ago, currently servicing it. The biggest issue is the auto-return. It seems to be returning nicely, but as it’s about to set back down the tone arm swings wildly back out.

I’ve watched several servicing videos and checked the manual, nobody seems to have this problem. And I tried to take off the panel the arm is on, the speed dial stops the panel, I think there is a screw underneath this panel that I can’t access.

Any advice or tips would be very helpful.
