Article on Lovecraft

Hello everyone,

I shared an article called “Nietzschean Self-Overcoming as Self-Annihilation: The Limits of Intelligibility in Bloodborne and Lovecraft” in** **r/Bloodborne and thought that it might be interesting for you as it has an unusual understanding of Lovecraft (at least, unusual in respect to the ones I came across). I haven’t read much of Lovecraft (I am just getting to him because of Bloodborne), and I really can’t understand Heidegger much (too complex for me), but perhaps you can make more of it.

Journal Article on Bloodborne and Nietzsche

Hey everyone,

I am happy to join this passionate community. I came across a recent article titled “Nietzschean Self-Overcoming as Self-Annihilation: The Limits of Intelligibility in Bloodborne and Lovecraft”, and I wanted to share it as this might be interesting for others too. As far as I can understand, the article interprets Bloodborne through Nietzsche and Lovecraft, while also interpreting the latter through other thinkers like Heidegger. I don’t have much expertise in philosophy, so perhaps others can make more sense of the piece. In general, I highly recommend following articles published in Games and Culture as I came accross quite a few good articles on Bloodborne and other video games.
