Hi everyone,

I'm an international student admitted to the BBA at HEC Montréal, and I was supposed to start at the end of August.

Unfortunately, my CAQ was refused last week because of what appears to be a misunderstanding regarding my financial documents. I contacted HEC Montréal's immigration office, but I haven't received a response yet.

I'm really worried because the semester starts very soon. I have already paid my first year of tuition, completed all the required documents for my application, and the refusal seems to be based on a misunderstanding.

Has anyone been in a similar situation?

• What did HEC Montréal do in your case?
• Were you eventually able to start your studies?
• Did HEC defer your admission to the Winter semester or another intake?
• Did they cancel your admission because of the CAQ/study permit delay?

I'm feeling really lost right now, so any advice or shared experience would mean a lot. Thank you!

Je suis une étudiante internationale admise au B.A.A. de HEC Montréal et je devais commencer mes études à la fin du mois d'août.

Malheureusement, mon CAQ a été refusé la semaine dernière à cause de ce qui semble être un malentendu concernant mes documents financiers. J'ai contacté le service de l'immigration de HEC Montréal, mais je n'ai toujours pas reçu de réponse.

Je suis très inquiète, car la rentrée approche rapidement. J'ai déjà payé la totalité de mes frais de scolarité pour la première année, fourni tous les documents demandés, et le refus semble être lié à un malentendu.

Est-ce que quelqu'un a déjà vécu une situation similaire ?

• Qu'a fait HEC Montréal dans votre cas ?
• Avez-vous pu commencer vos études après avoir réglé le problème ?
• Votre admission a-t-elle été reportée à la session d'hiver ou à une autre session ?
• HEC a-t-elle annulé votre admission à cause du retard du CAQ ou du permis d'études ?

I’m thinking about moving to an apartment on Boulevard Saint-Joseph right in front of Parc Lahaie but I’m not in Montreal right now so I can’t really go check the area myself.

From what I saw online the location looks really nice and everything seems close like cafés, stores and the metro, but I wanted to ask people who actually know the neighborhood.

How is it living around Boulevard Saint-Joseph and Parc Lahaie? Is it safe especially at night as a female or when coming home late? Does the park and the area feel okay after dark?

If you live there or lived there before I’d love to hear your experience, the good and the bad. Also curious if there have been any issues around that area before or anything I should know before moving.
