5 days post TT and feeling so much better!! 💕

2 days post thyroidectomy and feeling pretty rotten.

Had surgery Thursday morning and was feeling fairly well that evening. The following day was a little worse than the day of, but today I feel horrible. My entire neck is swollen, my incision is oozing and feels like the tape is being stretched too far or something. I’ve not been able to sleep for the past couple months, but today I can’t hardly keep my eyes open. I started the levothyroxine yesterday morning, and I’m wondering if that might have something to do with why I’m physically feeling so bad? As for the incision, I’ve been icing it every hour or so and sleeping on a wedge pillow, but is there anything else I should be doing?

I’m starting to freak out!

UPDATE:
I made it through surgery! Started about 7am, was in recovery by 11:15am and home by 6pm! Woke up feeling a lot more pain than I’d expected to, but they were able to get it under control fairly quickly. My incision looks considerably better than I was expecting it to, so yay! Although, I have a feeling it’s going to start looking worse before it gets better because it’s already starting to bruise a good amount. Best part was, NO DRAIN!! 🎉
I asked my surgeon if he was willing to take a photo of the thyroid after it was out for me and he did. I can’t believe how bad it was, so I’m so relieved it’s out!! Im happy to share the photos (probably privately) if anyone happens to wants to see it. I dont want to share in comments to be considerate to those who are squeamish though!!
Thank you all for the words of support and im wishing the best of luck to those whose procedures are still to come!! 💕💕💕

Tomorrow morning at 7am I’m having my thyroid removed. I’ve been looking forward to getting this softball sized lump out of my throat, but now that it’s almost time I’m freaking out.
I could really use hearing everyone’s stories of how much better life after getting removed and any positive feedback or thoughts you all might have to offer. I feel like I’m about to have a panic attack 😩😩😩

So, for several years I’ve been taking 2 of the 50mg kratom gummies every morning. I found out a couple months ago that I needed surgery to remove my thyroid. Since the day I found that out, I’ve started tapering my dose down. I’ve managed to go from 100mgs a day to approximately 2.5mgs a day. I’ve read I need to be totally off of them at least 2-4 days before my surgery date, which is in 8 days from today. I’ve been feeling awful for months now, but not sure whether it’s been from the kratom withdrawal or from the thyroid cancer, but I’ve had to keep trying to manage the symptoms as they came. I’m wondering if you all think it would be safe to just stop now? Or if i should try to cut them into smaller pieces than i already am? Originally I took 2 of the 50mg gummie, then after I got down to 1 a day, i eventually went to taking 1 of the 30mg gummie rather than the 50’s. I started cutting those in half, then in 3rd and eventually into quarters. Now I’m cutting the quarters into 3rds. If I’ve done my math correctly, I believe that puts me at 2.5mgs. I could try to cut the 1/4s into 4ths again and get to about 1.875’ish, but should I be ok to just stop taking them at this point? Or maybe try to take the 2.5mg every other day for a couple days first? Just looking for advice or suggestions from someone who understands this process a little better than I do. Thank you for reading 😊
