Celebrations

National Nurses Day today, hallelujah! A team of 3-4 senior sisters, matrons etc. rocked up onto the ward around 10am (mid-WR), took centre stage, guitar in hand and sang happy nurses day (happy birthday tune) for 5-10mins at full volume, clapped and left. Felt quite nice, Christmas carol vibes.

Anyone had a similar experience on national doctors day (March 30th apparently)? CMO showing up with guardian of wellbeing and safe working singing happy birthday to us? 🤓

Best bit, my consultant whispering into my ear “If you want to appreciate nurses, would you want to spend money on celebrating or would you maybe want to pay them more?”
