Did my best friend assault me?
I feel like I’m going insane, if you could spare time to hear my story and offer me honest input that’d be unbelievably helpful for me as I’m so lost. TW- potential assault? I’m not sure
I have a guy best friend, I’m a girl, we’ve been best friends since 13 we are now both 19 almost 20. Nothing romantic has ever even remotely happened between us, ever.
The other day after our friends party we had a sleepover, this is not unusual we have had sleepovers in the past but I noticed this time, he was in his boxers instead of usual pyjamas - I was fully clothed joggers and long sleeve shirt.
We slept as normal, it was the morning this had happened and he was awake, but he thought I was asleep.
He started off by stroking my hair, I didn’t think it was THAT odd so I just didn’t move.
Then he came to spoon me, I was also okay with that because the duvet was in between our bodies so it was more like an arm over, felt a bit odd but the duvet inbetween kept it feeling respectful.
It was when he so slowly and so quietly moved the duvet from between us and proceeded to move his whole body against me, but it was so slow as if not to wake me. I was frozen I didn’t know what to do.
He then so slowly starts grinding on me, really really slow like pressure then no pressure, he did that 3 times before I moved away onto my belly, I pretended to be asleep for another 15 minutes before “waking up”. I didn’t think about it the rest of the day, I was very busy but once I finally got home that evening, it all just flooded back and I’m trying to piece together why the fuck and what the fuck happened.
I left shortly after waking, he did seem off.
When I went to collect my stuff I had left at his there was just a small pile outside his door, I knocked because my earrings were still in there but he shouted “it’s all outside” to which I replied “my earrings are on your bedside table”.
He opened the door but didn’t let me see him, just put his arm round as the door was ajar.
Can someone please tell me what this is? I feel so disgusting he’s my best friend this is so out of character I can’t comprehend why. I feel so confused I view him so differently I’m living with him next year in our uni house. Please can any advice or can anyone help me see the situation for what it is - if I’m overreacting underrating what to do please.
