I have an '09 Ram 1500 4x4 5.7, and my transmission is currently stuck in manual 1st gear. When I try to manually turn the shift shaft to select my drive position on the side of the transmission it just spins freely. I am suspecting that my lever is not sitting in the notch in the rooster comb. Thus, the shaft is able to spin freely and not engage.

I removed the valve body and am attempting to line up the notch in the rooster comb and shift shaft lever, but I am having trouble. With the transmission in manual 1, what position on the rooster comb do I need to set for this to line back up and be in sync?

This is my first time working on a transmission so any help is very much appreciated.

I am an employee of a school district in Texas, and during the last few months, my department has been working long hours trying to complete our part of a large construction project. This has included working late hours (until 1:30 a.m. some nights) and some weekends.

During this time, we have been told to clock out at our regular time and continue working but with the promise of a stipend as compensation. This has been causing me to come in late some mornings and thus me not getting my "8 hours" each day, which is required, even though I am actually working 16+.

I am wondering if they can legally have me clock out at the end of my regular time but continue working (performing the same job) without receiving overtime for my hours physically worked.

I apologize for any mistakes. This is my first post. Thanks for any advice.
