I was speaking with some NCT friends about our babies and sleep and I commented that my nine month old isn't sleeping through the night. When we dug into it it turned out that they classed a baby waking for milk once or twice a night and being asleep again within 5-10 minutes as a dream feed and it didn’t count as a wake. By this standard my baby has been sleeping through for months but I always thought a dream feed was something deliberate by the parents rather than the baby waking for it? I guess if this is sleeping through then I’m a little disheartened as even if the baby is only awake for 5 minutes it takes me a little while to get back to sleep so I had been looking forward to her sleeping through in the coming months with no wakes.
