Seeking New Roommate, 2 Min Walk to UIC East Campus, in Little Italy
Hello! My roommate and I are currently searching for a new roommate to live with us for the next year (August 2026 - August 2027). Please see details below and DM this account for the address of the apartment. Photos of the apartment will also be provided in DMs.
The total rent is $2,850. Split between the 3 of us would be $950.
— THE APARTMENT —
The amenities include:
- In-unit laundry (washer/dryer)
- In-unit dishwasher
- 2 Bathrooms (1 full, 1 half)
- 1 Bedroom with a walk-in closet (2 other bedrooms already filled)
- 2 minute walk to UIC East Campus (7 minutes to Student Center East)
- Not pet friendly
- Not smoke friendly
- Drinking okay, just not excessive
- HVAC cooling
The utilities covered by our property manager (JMPP Management) include:
- Water
- Trash
The utilities we pay for include*:
- Gas
- Electricity
- Wifi
*We currently have individual accounts for paying these utilities. This means our current system is that each person pays the utility they are responsible for and we all pay each other back. However, we are open to discussing other systems if something else is more convenient!

- Distance to UIC East Campus is very short and walkable
- Nearby grocery stores include Mariano’s and H-Mart (can take CTA Bus 8)
- Little Italy offers many different shops, restaurants, and third places to study
- Maintenance is performed by property management

- My name is Ariel and I’m a Computer Science & Design major at UIC! I’m a rising senior who plans to graduate in May 2027. I identify as non-binary and am comfortable with any pronouns, but you can use they/them for convenience. I am also Chinese-Vietnamese American. Some of my hobbies/interests include: art, video games, and occasionally anime/manga. I love drawing so you’ll mainly find me cooped up in my room drawing a bunch. I tend to hyperfixate on things easily, so if you’re willing to lend an ear to whatever I’m currently interested in, we’ll be very fast friends. But it’s absolutely not a requirement to be friends as roommates for me! Just be patient, flexible, and open-minded and we’ll get along just fine.
- My name is Maya and I’m a Computer Engineering major with a minor in Computer Science at UIC! I am a rising senior and plan to graduate May 2028. I identify as female and use she/her pronouns. I am also Polish. Some of my hobbies/interests include video gaming, art, and the color pink. I value patience, flexibility, and open-mindedness. I also appreciate friendships where we can bond but also have time to ourselves.
Our main priorities in a roommate:
- Values communication and is willing to make accommodations when necessary
- Can follow a weekly chore schedule
- Cleans up after themselves without being asked
- Can adhere to a noise curfew (quiet hours from 10PM to 8AM)
- Mindful of noise in general
- Availability within the next couple of weeks to connect in an in-person or online interview/tour of the apartment (see deadline date at the end of this listing)
- Female or queer
- Identifies as LGBTQ+ or is LGBTQ+ friendly
- Identifies as neurodivergent or neurodivergent friendly
- Is an undergraduate or graduate student that’s aged 20-27 years old
Additional nice-to-have qualities:
- Interests in nerd/niche subcultures (video games, anime, manga, comics, etc.)
- Studying a field in STEM, Design, Art, or Humanities
