Just Wow

Tried FSD on the freeway today for a run from a major airport to back home in a rural area in my new to me 2021 model 3. it’s only on version 12 but it was amazing. I can’t wait to see what 14 lite can do, Or even hardware 4. It handled heavy stop and go traffic just fine. it might have gone a little too fast for me at times, but standard mode was just right I think. It is leaps ahead of super-cruise on my equinox EV which I think is great on the freeway.

The $20 paid tier is totally worth it

So much more usage compared to free tier. I have making a board game, answering questions, giving me a daily briefing, recipes, voice chat, and shopping for a used car, way more than I could do the free tier. It’s a real game changer

ELI5 how do engineers determine torque specifications?

I am sure there is math involved but how do they determine it do they have to model theoretical loads agains material strengths and things like that, or is there just a common reference out there? It seems like there is torque specifications for every nut and bolt on a vehicle.

Thanks everyone for the detailed replies goes to show how well educated all you engineers need to be!
