I don't like the design on this lamp, any ideas for how to remove it? Acetone didn't work.

I picked up this lamp a couple of days ago and I love it, but I'm not obsessed with the floral details and I would like it better if it didn't have them. I thought that they were going to be hand painted on and I would be able to use acetone to remove them, but acetone did nothing. Any ideas?
